Mankato, MN - The Crown College Baseball team faced off with the Bethany Lutheran Vikings in a doubleheader on Saturday and fell in both contests by scores of 14-11 and 13-6.

Crown jumped out to an early lead in the third inning after Bethany Lutheran scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Back to back doubles from Mason Brock and Tristen Ciarlo set the tone for the inning and Crown took the 3-2 lead. Crown gave up 4 runs in the middle innings as the Vikings took a 6-4 lead heading into the 7th inning. The inning was boosted by a 3 run home run from Ashton Long, his sixth home run of the season and the Polars took the lead again with the score sitting at 8-6. The Vikings scored 8 runs in the eighth and Crown couldn't complete the comeback despite the 3 run ninth inning as the final score settled at 14-11 in favor of the Vikings.
