St. Bonifacius, MN – Polars Baseball faced off with the Northland College Lumberjacks for a doubleheader on Friday and came out on top 17-6 and 15-12.
Game one saw a very even match up early on with both teams notching a run in the first inning. The Polars were able to score 8 unanswered runs after an offensive explosion with hits from 
Howie Hatton, 
Jack Becker, 
Matthew Shaugabay, and an 
Ashton Long home run. Northland answered right back in the top of the 5th inning with 5 runs of their own. Crown with a slim 9-6 lead went on to rally off an 8 run 7th inning with 2 outs to give Crown the run rule victory. 
Aidan Volk-Specht got the win for the Polars after he pitched 4.1 innings striking out 7 in the process. 
Tyler Bloom finished the game for Crown only allowing one hit in 2.2 innings. 
Howie Hatton notched a 3 hit game, 
Mason Brock totaled 6 runs batted in, and three other Polars notched multi-hit games.
Game two was back and forth with the majority of the runs being scored in the middle innings. A high scoring affair found Crown facing a 1 run deficit with three innings to play. Some late innings offensive firepower with five hits and a few walks gave Crown a 15-12 lead and it would stay there.

Jacob Van Dam getting the start. 
Howie Hatton and 
Jack Becker both highlighted the offense again with 5 hits combined in 7 at bats.
The Poalrs return to St. Bonifacius to face off with Northland for the third and final game of the series on Saturday at 10:30am.
