St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College Men's Basketball team faced off with the North Central Rams on Friday coming out on top by a score of 68-63.
The first half saw Crown come out with an early lead after a couple made threes from
Seth Royston. The Polars pushed their lead to thirteen going up 23-10 with 11:44 to go. A late run by North Central pulled them back into the game. A couple late buckets from
Cade Carroll put the Polars up 32-29 at the break.
An electric second half saw five score changes starting with a run by North Central giving them their first lead of the game. Both teams trading buckets throughout the half found the score tied at 53 apiece with 8 minutes to go. A late push put the Rams up by five but their lead was quickly thwarted by the Polars offense and the likes of Royston and
Micah Ladd. Five late free throws from Ladd gave Crown the lead and the victory finishing on top 68-63.
Seth Royston nabbed a Double-Double with 26 points and 14 rebounds, both numbers leading the Polars.
Jacob Van Dam followed with 12 points and
Carter Behne added 10.
Micah Ladd added 7 assists to lead Crown in that aspect.
The Polars as a team shot 33.3% going 22-66 from the field and 30% from three point range going 9-30.
Crown returns to action tomorrow February 4
th at 3pm at home against the University of Northwestern Eagles.
