Box Score Superior, WI - Men's Basketball faced off with the UW-Superior Yellowjackets in the regular season finale, falling by a score of 72-61.
The Yellowjackets came out hot out of the gate leading te Polars 19-9 nearing the halfway point in the first half. The Polars would climb right back in it with buckets from
Giovani Saldivar,
Carter Behne, and
Jacob Masek tying the game at 23 apiece with five minutes to play in the first half. Crown would then take their first lead of the game but finished the half tied at 30-30.
Crown would take the lead again with fourteen minutes to play in the game after
Cade Carroll knocked down a triple and Masek finished at the rim. The story from there on out was the Superior offense and Crown just couldn't quite climb back into the game. The Polars struggled to stop the Superior's offense giving up 42 points in the second half. The final score showed 72-61, the Yellowjackets coming out on top.
Cade Carroll led the way offensively for the Polars scoring 16 points, shortly followed by the likes of
Jacob Masek who scored 12.
Seth Royston dominated the boards grabbing 13 rebounds. Masek also totaled 5 assists on the day.
The Polars as a team shot 40.6% from the field going 26-64 and 22.2% from three point range going 8-26.
The Crown men finish their regular season 15-10 and 6-8 in UMAC play. They will move on to the NCCAA regional tournament with hopes to play for another NCCAA Championship.
