St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College Polars faced off with the Bethany Lutheran Vikings on Friday ultimately coming out on top 79-74.
The first half saw Crown take an early 13 point lead jumping out in front after multiple buckets from
Jacob Van Dam. The Vikings fought back, cutting the lead to one with 3 minutes to go in the half. Crown led for the rest of the half, ending the half with the score 38-33 in the Polars favor.
The second half started out with Crown knocking down a couple buckets from
Jacob Masek and Van Dam. The Polars maintained their thin lead throughout the second half, extending the lead to 13 with 5:35 to go. The Vikings clawed their way to within three in the last minute, but a late defensive stand held off the Vikings and Crown came out on top 79-74.
Cade Carroll led the scoring for Crown with 32 points and added 14 rebounds for a Double Double.
Jacob Van Dam followed with 14 points and 13 from
Carter Behne.
Jacob Masek totaled 6 assists leading Crown.
Crown as a team shot 47.1% from the field going 32-68 and 43.5% from three-point range going 10-23.
The Polars Men move to 13-9 on the season and 4-7 in UMAC play and return home for Senior day on Saturday, February 11
th at 3pm.
