Waverly, IA - The Polars Women's basketball team faced off with the #7 ranked Wartburg Knights on the road and fell 86-42.
The first quarter was evenly matched as Crown kept up with the ranked opponents and had a 9-6 lead with six and a half minutes to play in the first quarter. Wartburg went on a 16-7 run to finish out the quarter. A huge second and third quarter from the Knights left the Polars behind by a fourty point margin and the Knights came out on top 86-42.
McKenzie Latzke led the scoring for Crown with 18 points on seven made buckets.
Isabelle Sager went a perfect 4-4 from the field and totaled 6 rebounds.
Hazel Serapio and
Sydney Cotten both added two steals in the contest.
The Polars fall to 2-9 on the season and will take on UW-River Falls tomorrow December 30th to conclude the Wartburg Tournament.
