St. Paul, MN - The Polars Men's Basketball team faced off with an NCAA Division I opponent in St. Thomas in an exhibition game and fell 85-66.
Crown found their first lead of the contest after four straight made three pointers as they jumped out in front 15-13 with 11:17 to play in the first half. Four minutes later after the Polars fell behind, the score was all even at 19-19. The Tommies finished the half with a 15-6 run and at the break the score read 34-26 with St. Thomas out in front.
An early second half run from the Polars brought the score to within two points the closest it was in the second half. St. Thomas pulled away in the second half as the final score read 85-66 in the Tommies favor. The Tommies scored a whopping 48 points in the paint compared to just 24 points in the paint for Crown.
Jacob Van Dam led the scoring with 19 points including 5 made three pointers.
Cade Carroll went 6-14 from the field and totaled 18 points. Both
PJ Ebeling and Carroll led with 7 boards each. Crown shot 40.7% from the field and 45% from three point range.
Crown will have a short break before returning home to St. Bonifacius for a December 30th, 5pm contest with the Concordia (MN) Cobbers.
