Duluth, MN - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the St. Scholastica Saints on the road and fell 71-54.
The first possession of the game saw
McKenzie Latzke knock down a three to give Crown a lead. That would be the only lead of the game for the Polars. A late run in the first quarter put the score at 17-9. The Saints extended the lead to 35-21 at the half. The second half saw St. Scholastica stretch their advantage by twenty points and the final score ended 71-54.
The Polars struggled with turnovers as they finished with 26 total turnovers compared to 17 from the Saints. The Polars also struggled shooting in the first half as they went 7-29. Latzke led the scoring with 13 points on the day. Eli Herman scored 9 points.
Sonia Urbina and
Hazel Serapio followed closely behind with 8 and 7 points respectively.
Isabelle Sager notched a double digit rebound game with 10 rebounds.
The Polars fall to 0-1 to start the season and will return for the home opener his Saturday, November 11th for a 3pm tip-off with Grinnell College.
