St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the Grinnell College Pioneers on Saturday and fell 77-45.
Crown jumped out in front with the first points of the game coming from
McKenzie Latzke. The Pioneers would take the first quarter after a 22-7 run. Sophomore Center
Isabelle Sager got into foul trouble early in the first half. Defensively Crown held the Pioneers to just 11 points in the second quarter but only managed to score 8. The second half saw the Pioneers control possession and take the win 77-45.
McKenzie Latzke went 6-14 from the field and 4-9 from three point range as she totaled 16 points.
Morgan Aylsworth and
Sonia Urbina followed with 9 and 5 points respectively.
May Laverty led Crown with 6 rebounds and
Elli Hemann grabbed 5 rebounds. The Polars as a team shot 29% from the field compared to 56.4% from the Pioneers.
Crown falls to 0-2 on the season and will haed on the road for a game with St. Olaf on Wednesday, November 15th at 5pm.
