Ellendale, ND - The Polars Women's Basketball team headed on the road and took down the Trinity Bible Lions 67-55 for the first win of the season.
The Lions took an early 13-9 lead after an early hot stretch. Crown battled right back as jumpers from
Sonia Urbina and
Morgan Aylsworth brought Crown to within three as the first quarter ended 18-15 with Trinity out in front. A slight burst of offense early in the second quarter saw Crown jump out in front before the end of the half. The third and fourth quarters proved to be the Polars best quarters as they notched 14 and 21 points to take home their first win of the season.
McKenzie Latzke led the scoring for Crown with 18 points.
Madison Morken and
Isabelle Sager both notched double digit points with 12 and 11 points respectively. Sager led the rebounding with 13 rebounds and notched her first double-double of the year. Crown shot 35% from the field and 34% from the three point line.
Crown gets their first win of the season and will return home for a Friday contest with UW-Stout at 6pm, December 1st.
