St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the Cornell College Rams on Monday and fell 79-70.
The Rams started the game on an 8-0 run. The Polars battled back after two triples from both
McKenzie Latzke and
May Laverty. A late run by Cornell left the score at 25-15 in favor of the Rams. Cornell then extended the lead to eighteen early in the second quarter. Crown answered back and chipped into the lead before the end of half and it settled at 45-31 in favor of Cornell.
Crown started cutting the lead in the third quarter slowly but surely. The lead was trimmed down to 5 after buckets from Latzke and
Hazel Serapio. The Polars ended the third quarter scoring 25 points and held the Rams to just 13 leaving the score at 58-56 heading into the all important 4th quarter. The Polars took the lead for the first time in the contest with 7:25 to play, but a 17-8 run by the Rams an Crown fell 79-70.

Latzke led the scoring with 15 points and was followed shortly by 14 points by
Morgan Aylsworth.
Hazel Serapio totaled 10 points on the day.
Isabelle Sager led in rebounding with 8 rebounds.
Sonia Urbina led with 4 assists.
The Polars fall to 0-5 and will head on the road to take on Trinity Bible on Tuesday, November 28th at 5pm.
