St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars faced off with the Minnesota Morris Cougars in the home UMAC opener falling by a score of 72-65.
The first half saw the Cougars start out hot pushing out to a thirteen-point lead 9 minutes in. The Polars creeped back into the game with 6:18 on the clock after a few buckets from
Alec Testerman,
Carter Behne, and a few nice plays from
Seth Royston including a dunk down the middle of the lane. The surge brought Crown to within 5 points in the first half. The first half ende3d with Morris out in front 36-29.
The second half saw the Cougars lead the whole time with the Polars tying it up with 5:57 to go. A few buckets following the Polars climbing back into it put the Cougars up by 7 with 2:44 to go and Crown could not climb back into it, falling 72-65.
Seth Royston led the scoring for Crown with 21 points, he also added 10 rebounds to attribute to a double-double.
Jacob Van Dam put up 13 points and
Micah Ladd followed him with 10.
Jacob Masek led Crown in rebounds with 11 to add to his total. Royston also added 2 blocks to continue to grow his career record of 129 blocks.
Crown returns to action on Friday, January 13
th at home versus Wisconsin-Superior for a 5:30pm gametime as the Polars look to get back on track in UMAC play.
