New Ulm, Minn. – The Crown College Polars Men faced off with the Martin Luther Knights Friday on the road coming out on top 92-64.
The first half started out with the Knights knocking down the first two buckets of the game. Shortly after that Crown ran off a 13-0 run ending in a Martin Luther timeout. After a few made shots from Martin Luther the duo of Royston's pushed the Crown lead to 22-13 with twelve minutes to play. Crown finished the half out in front following a late push by Martin Luther with a score of 45-39.
The Polars started the second half quick pushing the lead to 63-50 seven minutes in. Crown never looked back from there stretching the lead throughout the half and ultimately coming out on top by a score of 92-64.
Seth Royston led the scoring with 18 points shortly followed by Cade Carroll with 17. Jacob Masek led Crown in rebounds with 10 boards on the day.
The Polars move to 11-6 on the season and 2-4 in UMAC play. Crown travels to Bethany Lutheran in Mankato, Minnesota on Saturday and will take on the Vikings in a pivotal conference matchup at 3pm.
