St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars took on the Northland College Lumberjacks on Saturday, finishing on top by a score of 91-65.
Crown started slow out of the gate going down 17-2 seven minutes into the game. Runs of nine and six brought the Polars to within two with 5 minutes to play in the first half. A couple of buckets from Royston, Carroll, and Van Dam gave Crown the lead with two minutes to go and Crown finished the half in the lead 40-31.
The second half saw Crown never look back, slowly growing their lead up to sixteen points with 12 minutes to play. The Polars continued to put points up on the board scoring 91 points, their highest total since November 22
nd.
Van Dam led the scoring for Crown putting up 21 points and adding 4 assists. Three other Polars players scored double digits, those including the likes of
Seth Royston,
Micah Ladd, and
Jacob Masek.
PJ Ebeling led the rebounding with 9 rebounds, a season high for him.
Micah Ladd totaled 7 assists leading Crown.
The Polars shot 47.9% as a team from the field and 32.4% from downtown.
Crown moves to 10-6 on the year and 1-4 in UMAC play. They return to action on the road on January 20
th at 5:30pm versus Martin Luther.
