Volleyball Play Two More at Macalester Invite

St. Paul, Minn. – The Crown volleyball team played twice more at the Macalester Invite on Saturday, falling to the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and then Nebraska Wesleyan by matching 3-0 scores.  The games wrap up a four game sequence in St. Paul this Friday/Saturday. 

In the first game, Crown lost by set scores of 25-18, 25-6, and 25-17.  The team struggled to gain any attacking momentum recording 12 kills and 25 attack errors over the course of the match, a -.167 hitting percentage.

Arryana Puetz and Hailey Klein led the team with three kills apiece while Samantha Swanson paced the team with seven assists.  Sage Johnston had a team high seven digs against the Falcons. 

Game two of the day featured the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves of the American Rivers Conference as the opponent. 
The scores in game three were 25-10, 25-12, and 25-7.  The Prairie Wolves recorded 37 kills to 14 for the Polars and hit a very good .341 for the match. 

Crown came in with a negative hitting percentage for the second time on the day, finishing with -.103.
Ashley Earick had a team best five kills, while Swanson once again led with eight assists and Johnston led with eight digs. 
The Polars will look to get on track as they host four NCCAA opponents on campus next weekend with Oak Hills, Faith Baptist, Trinity Bible, and Calvary Bible making their way to St. Bonifacius.
