St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars Volleyball team opened their season by hosting MIAC opponent Macalester on Thursday night, falling to the Scots 3-0 in straight sets. 

A group of five first-years joined five returners in coach Brittany Strange's lineup on the night, eventually falling by scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-12.

The Polars are back in action on Friday with back-to-back matches against Carleton and Luther at a tournament hosted by tonight's opponents, Macalester.
