Auburndale, FL – In a back-and-forth affair, Crown came up just short falling by a score of 13-10 to Concordia-Moorhead. Crown took the lead in the 1st inning on a Seth Betts RBI single. They would then regain the lead in the 3rd on a Devyn Wilson-Cowan 2 run shot to center field to give Crown a 3-2 lead.
Concordia would take a 7-3 lead on a grand slam in the 4th inning but the game was far from over. Crown would chip away from there and come back to take the lead 9-7 in the 7th. Key pieces in the rally were Kyle Schroedle, who had 2 sacrifice flies, Blake Boggs had an RBI double, Mason Brock knocked in 2 with a single to left, and Rhys Dewick singled in the 9th run for Crown with an RBI single to left.
However, Concordia kept battling back and eventually went on to win the game 13-10. The loss puts Crown at 2-3 on the year and 1-2 down in Florida. Crown will have the day off tomorrow before getting back at it on Tuesday.
