Baseball Falls to Rhode Island College 7-4

Auburndale, FL – Crown Baseball's first game in Florida was a back-and-forth affair with Rhode Island College ultimately coming out on top by a score of 7-4. Crown hit the ground running in the first inning, scoring two runs to take a 2-0 lead. The first run was driven in by Kyle Schroedle on an infield single that drove in Devin Cowan-Wilson. The second run was scored on a sacrifice fly from Mason Brock to score Seth Betts.
 
Rhode Island College fought back to tie the game at 2 in the 2nd inning before Crown retook the lead in the top of the 3rd. Rhys Dewick doubled down the left field line to score Schroedle and then Brock had his second sacrifice fly of the game to score Dewick to extend the lead to 4-2.
 
Crown would fail to score the rest of the way however as Rhode Island College scored 5 unanswered runs between the 4th and 7th innings to take a 7-4 lead which ended up being the final score. Crown is back at it tomorrow in Davenport, FL to take on Penn State Brandywine, first pitch is at 2:00 CST.
