Offensive Explosion Leads Crown to Win Over Brandywine

Box Score Davenport, FL – In what turned out to be a really entertaining game on Saturday afternoon, Crown came out on top with a 12-7 win over Penn State Brandywine. The scoring was kick started in the 2nd inning with a 2 RBI double from Bailey Sarto. Brandywine would answer back to take the lead 3-2 before Seth Betts hit a game tying solo shot in the top of the 3rd to tie the game at 3.
 
Over the next few innings, Brandywine would respond with 3 runs of their own to take a 6-3 lead. In the 5th inning Crown would respond, putting up 3 runs to tie the game at 6. In the 5th inning Mason Brock, Jack Becker, and Blake Boggs all had RBI's to tie the game.
 
It was the 7th inning where the Storm really broke the game open. Blake Boggs started it with an RBI infield single to give Crown the lead. Sarto then doubled over the center fielders head, scoring 2 to give Crown a 9-6 lead. Cody Csulak would then drive the 10th run home with a sacrifice fly before Sarto scored on a passed ball to ultimately make it an 11-6 ballgame.
 
Jacob Van Dam looked sharp in his season debut on the hill for Crown. He closed out the game with 2.1 innings of shutout baseball to help give Crown the 12-7 win. Crown plays again tomorrow before an off day on Monday, first pitch is at 10:00am CST.
