Northwestern Size Too Much for Women’s Basketball

St. Paul, Minn. – Northwestern used 48 points in the paint to defeat the Crown women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 75-49.  The Eagles size was just too much for the Storm as the host team also won the battle of the boards, 44-31.

Crown held a two point lead after a Madison Morken layup at the first quarter buzzer but the Storm on top 15-13.  Northwestern would use a big second quarter to stake themselves to a lead, outscoring Crown 19-9 in the period.

Crown was led by McKenzie Latzke's 15 points, with Dominque Urbina and Morken also scoring double-figures with eleven and ten points respectively.   Morken also led the Storm with six rebounds.

Amy Martius had six steals for Crown while Urbina had a team high three assists.

Crown will look to bounce back on the road next weekend with UMAC contests against Bethany Lutheran and Martin Luther.
