Minneapolis, Minn. – The Crown men's basketball team rolled to another double-digit victory on Friday night, this time traveling to North Central and topping the Rams by a final score of 85-62. The win is the Storm's fifth in six games, all by at least fifteen points, with four of the five being by 20 or more.
Crown set the tone with another dominant defensive performance, holding the Rams to just 22 first-half points while doubling them up with by scoring 44 in the opening 20 minutes. Crown grabbed 20 defensive boards in the half, allowing just two offensive rebounds.
Crown had four starters in double figures, led by
Cade Carroll's 28. The sophomore shot 12-17 from the field and 3-7 from three, adding seven rebounds. Also reaching ten or more points were
Jacob Van Dam with 12,
Alec Testerman with eleven, and
Micah Ladd who recorded ten points and seen assists.
Seven other players scored in the game, but it was Crown's defense that continued to be the story as the Storm held North Central to just 35.4% shooting and a 4-25 mark from three point range. Crown shot 53% for the game and hit on seven of 21 attempts from deep.
Crown looks to continue their momentum as they travel to UMAC leader Northwestern on Saturday.
