Crown Women Win Second Straight Before Dropping Finale to Superior

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown women's basketball team earned their second straight UMAC victory with an impressive 84-52 win over Northland College on Friday night.  Crown got significant contributions from multiple players in a dominant performance that earned them their third conference win and seventh overall on the season.

Crown was once again led by Dominique Urbina who nearly earned a unique triple-double with 27 points, ten assists, and seven steals.  The guard chipped in four rebounds as well.
McKenzie Latzke had a big night as well, scoring 24 points and connecting on four three pointers. 

Shauna Thompson had nine and ten rebounds, narrowly missing out on a double-double and Amy Martius got to 17 points and seven rebounds. 

The Storm outrebounded Northland 34-26 and forced 29 turnovers, scoring 36 points off those takeaways.

Shifting to Saturday afternoon, where the Crown women's basketball team then faced UW-Superior in the season finale where they fell short, 69-47.  The Storm will be the seven seed in the upcoming UMAC postseason tournament that starts on Tuesday.

The Storm struggled from the field, shooting just 27.4%, including a 1-18 mark from beyond the arc.  The Yellowjackets 53.6% mark from the field.

Amy Martius led the home team with 15 points on five made field goals and five free throws.  McKenzie Latzke had 11 points and Dominique Urbina had 10 with six rebounds and four assists.  Madison Morken led the way with seven rebounds.

Crown will travel to Northwestern on Tuesday of next week for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
