New Ulm, Minn. –
Dominique Urbina hit four clutch free throws in the last minute of the game on Saturday to send Crown to a 64-62 win over Martin Luther. The guard's first two shots from the charity stripe tied the game with 59 seconds remaining and her second two put Crown in the lead with under ten seconds remaining.
The Knights held a 38-29 advantage at halftime, but a strong third quarter saw Crown jump back in front at 49-48. Neither team was able to stretch their advantage very far in a fourth quarter that saw an incredible nine lead changes and six ties. In fact, neither team led by more than two points for the entire quarter.
After Urbina's free throws tied the game, each team traded a missed shot and MLC took a timeout with under ten seconds remaining. Urbina came up with a steal and was subsequently fouled and calmly sunk both shots to give Crown the two-point lead. The Knights had a shot to tie at the buzzer, but failed to convert and Crown completed their second conference win of the season.
