Roseville, Minn. - The Polars men's basketball team faced off with the Northwestern Eagles on Friday, falling 79-71 in a close battle.
The Polars led for a majority of the first half shooting 43.2% and getting six more attempts than the Eagles. A very contested first half ended with a 37-34 Polars lead.
A late run with 10 minutes to play pushed the Eagles out in front and the Polars couldn't climb back into it, eventually falling 79-71.Â
Seth Royston broke the career blocks record after adding a monster block against the Eagles, totaling 117 blocks early in his senior season.
Seth Royston and Jahmar White both scored 19 apiece to lead the Polars offense. Micah Ladd and Carter Behne both added 8 points as well.
Royston also added 10 rebounds to attribute to a double double. Jacob Masek and Alec Testerman both pulled down 7 rebounds.
Crown falls to 7-2 on the season and 0-1 in UMAC play. The Polars will travel back to the twin cities on this Saturday December 10th for another UMAC matchup, taking on the North Central Rams at 3pm.
