Polars Drop Nonconference Matchup With Pipers

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the Hamline Pipers on Saturday but could not keep up, falling by a score of 79-55.

The Polars scored 11 points in each of the first two quarters. Crown came out strong early in the second quarter cutting a 16-point Hamline lead down to 11. A few back-and-forth buckets and a late couple shots from the Pipers put the Polars down 38-22 at the break.

The third quarter was not too kind to the Polars as they were outscored 28-15. A good 4th quarter cut the Pipers' lead down to 24 and that's where it would finish 79-55 in the Pipers favor.

Madi Hecox once again led the Polars with 18 points. Two other Crown players nabbed double digits in points, Shauna Thompson scored 13 while Amy Martius scored 10 points. Isabelle Sager and Shauna Thompson led in rebounds with 5 each.

Crown as a team shot 38.9% from the field going 21-54 and 25% from the three-point line going 7-28.

The Polars have just over a two week break before coming back home on Tuesday, January 3rd to face off with Nebraska Wesleyan at 4pm.
