St. Paul, Minn. - The Polars women's basketball team faced off with the North Central University Rams on Saturday, ultimately fell 58-46 in a close battle.
Despite a few buckets from McKenzie Latzke and Madi Hecox the Rams led at the end of the first quarter 14-10. The second quarter went slightly in the Polars favor with the score 26-24 Rams holding the slight edge.
The third quarter saw the Rams stretch their lead to 12 ending the quarter 43-31. The fourth quarter was even, both teams scoring 15 points. The Rams ended on top 58-46.
McKenzie Latzke and Shauna Thompson led the Polars offense scoring 10 apiece. Latzke went 3-17 from the field and 1-7 from three point range. Thompson went 2-2 from the field and 5-9 from the free throw line.
Isabelle Sager once again led Crown in rebounds as she totaled 9 rebounds on the day. The Polars as a team shot 26.8% from the field and 18.8% from three point range.
Crown falls to 3-4 on the season and 0-2 in UMAC play. The Polars will head to Duluth, Minnesota to take on the St. Scholastica Saints for a non-conference matchup Thursday, December 15th at 7pm.
