Storm Lake, IA – The Crown Women faced off with Buena Vista in a very competitive non-conference matchup on Tuesday. After sixteen lead changes, the Polars fell 72-69 in the waning seconds.
Back and forth all game long, Buena Vista led after the first 19-18. Crown jumped out in front late in the second quarter limiting Buena Vista to only 9 points in the second quarter. The action continued in the second half, both teams alternating buckets. A few free throws late in the fourth quarter ended up being the difference in this nail biter.
Madi Hecox once again led the scoring with 25 points going 9-14 from the field. McKenzie Latzke scored 13 points going 4-14 from the field, and May Laverty scored 10 points going 3-5 from the field.
Amy Martius led the Polars on the boards contributing 8 rebounds to the teams 34 total rebounds.
The Polars will look to get back in the win column at home against Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday, Nov. 29
th at 4pm.
