October afternoon. Eight turnovers spelled doom for the home team as the offense simply couldn't get anything going and the Cougars left town with a 27-0 victory.
Reigning UMAC Offensive Player of the Week
Diego Narezo threw five interceptions and lost a fumble and the Polars lost two more fumbles with the Cougars converting three of those takeaways directly to touchdowns with two pick-sixes and a scoop-and-score fumble recovery.
The Cougars managed just one offensive score in the contest, but the three defensive touchdowns were more than enough to thwart the Polars on this day.
Narezo did complete 29 of 56 pass attempts for 192 yards and backup
Keller Jackson completed six of eight for 44 yards, but the Cougars did a good job of limiting downfield options and yards after the catch.
Terry Warner caught eleven balls, but for just 28 yards and
Isaiah Anfield grabbed ten passes for 81 yards.
The Crown defense played phenomenally again this week, and created 3 turnovers of their own, with
Logan Disabella nabbing a pair of interceptions and
Devaughn Batain grabbing another.
Quis Icon and
Gabe Banks each had nine tackles to lead the unit.
Crown will look to put this performance in the rearview mirror quickly as the team travels to Michigan to face Finlandia University next Saturday in a 1 p.m. eastern time kickoff.
