St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College Storm women's basketball team led Northwestern heading into the fourth quarter of their UMAC matchup on Wednesday, but the second-place Eagles pulled away late to claim a 70-56 victory.
The game slipped away late for the Storm, who led by a score of 44-39 after three quarters. In the decisive fourth, UNW outscored Crown 31-12, and scored 19 points in the final 4:06 of regulation. That number was heavily influenced by 13 made free throws over that stretch.
Crown was led by
Amy Martius, who had a team high 16 points and 11 rebounds, and the duo of Mckenzie Latzke and
Dominique Urbina who each had 15 points.
The Storm are back in action on Saturday when they host Minnesota Morris for a 3 p.m tip.
