Superior, Wis. – The Crown women's basketball team started their Friday night UMAC matchup with UW-Superior on fire, hitting on seven of eleven first-half three-point attempts on their way to a 48-45 halftime advantage. Unfortunately, things cooled off for the Storm in the second half and Superior was able to complete the comeback for an 81-72 victory.
The Storm were led by a career-high 32 points from
McKenzie Latzke who hit on ten of 20 field goal attempts, including a 5-9 mark from downtown, and added a perfect tally of 7-7 from the free throw line.
Dominique Urbina hit double-figures with 13 points and had a team-high seven assists, while
Amy Martius also reached the double-digit scoring plateau with ten.
The Storm cooled off considerably in the second half, only converting on two of 12 three point attempts and were outscored 36-24 after the break.
Crown will continue their conference road trip with a Saturday matinee at Northland College.
