Royston's Eight Blocks Sets Record, Storm Defeat MLC 74-61

NEW ULM, Minn. --- Junior forward Seth Royston broke the Crown single-game record for blocks in his first collegiate double-double on Thursday. Royston and the Storm took down the Martin Luther Knights 74-61, improving the Storm to 2-2 at the conference campaign's halfway point.

Royston had 13 points in the contest, along with game-highs of 13 rebounds and eight blocks, nearing a triple-double in his 30 minutes of action. Senior forward Christian Moore had a team-high in the scoring column with 15 points and added eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals as he continues his strong all-around season. Off the bench, first-year guard Micah Moan matched Moore's point total and has now led the team in scoring for two consecutive games. Moan's scoring was astonishingly efficient, with only seven field-goal attempts.

Alec Testerman, Aaron Davis, Cole Andersen, Dylan Gilmer, Micah Ladd, and Cade Neubert spread out the rest of the Storm's scoring, with all players having between four and six points. Davis and Ladd added three assists each.

Despite the final, the game remained close late, as the Storm only held a one-score lead with six minutes remaining. However, Crown pulled away strong in those last six minutes to take the game by 13, leading by 16 before the final whistle. The Storm led the Knights in three main categories on their way to victory, outscoring Martin Luther 21-13 in points off of turnovers, 30-18 in bench scoring, and 40-24 in points in the paint.

Crown will look to take this momentum into their home contest on Saturday, facing the St. Scholastica Saints. With the Saints set to leave the UMAC in 2021, this will mark their last conference contest with the rival. There will be no fans allowed; however, Crown will live stream the for free on the Crown College Sports Network.
