Saints Pull Away Late to Defeat Storm 72-60

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- On Saturday, Crown Men's Basketball lost to the St. Scholastica Saints in a tough conference matchup 72-60. The final score was far from the full story as Crown was down only six points with four minutes remaining in a gritty contested game with no easy buckets. This contest was the last conference matchup for the Saints and the Storm, as St. Scholastica is leaving the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference next Fall.

First-year Quincy Wilson led Crown in scoring off the bench, with 13 points. He was the only Storm player in double figures and only missed one shot in the entire game. Next in Crown's scoring performance was sophomore Alec Testerman with seven points and a team-high three assists.

From there, Christian Moore, Micah Ladd, Seth Royston, Cade Neubert, and Sawyer Lawhon all scored six points, showing Crown's incredible depth this season. Micah Moan, Aaron Davis, and Cole Andersen also recorded baskets in the game.

Like points scored, the team split rebounds evenly, with Testerman, Moore, Royston, Neubert, and Jacob Van Dam all recording a team-high four rebounds. The Storm took two categories handily in the post-game insights, defeating the Saints 11-3 in points off of turnovers and 32-20 in bench scoring.

The Storm will be moving on quick, with another game on Monday, a non-conference matchup with the Martin Luther Knights. The Storm defeated the Knights 74-61 last week in a conference matchup and will be looking to repeat that result on their home court. Crown College Athletics will not allow spectators for this event; however, the free live stream will be available on the Crown College Sports Network.
