ASHLAND, Wis. --- Crown headed to Wisconsin this weekend for the Stinger Tournament. The Storm lost their first two games to Concordia University Chicago 0-3 (16-25, 17-25, 19-25) and Northland College 0-3 (20-25, 20-25, and 22-25).
In the first game vs. Concordia, Crown was led in kills by sophomore Talana Rudzitis with seven. Sophomore Ellie Clark led in assists with nine, and Rudzitis led in digs with 13.
In the second game vs. Northland, senior Karissa Steinkamp and sophomore Gracie Zieroth both had six kills. Zieroth also led in aces with three, and freshman Ashley Earick had two blocks. Senior Madeline Svoboda led in digs with 15, and Rudzitis finished with 11 assists.
"I am proud of how our team was aggressive in the end and swinging at every ball and not playing timid," said Zieroth. "We are ready to bring that same aggressive attitude tomorrow on the court."
Crown will start day two of the Stinger tournament at 10 am Saturday, Sept. 6 playing Nebraska Wesleyan followed with UW-Superior at 2 pm.
