MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- New Head Volleyball Coach Brittany Strange picked up her first win at the helm, defeating Mount Mary 3-1 in her first game at the end of the Storm bench. Strange's team took the first two sets handily 25-14, 25-19. The Blue Angels took the third set 26-24, but the Storm came roaring back with a statement 25-11 final fourth set.
The contest served as a breakout performance by sophomore setter Talana Rudzitis, who led the team with 11 kills and 15 assists, along with 19 digs. Sophomore setter Ellie Clark added 13 assists in the contest and sophomore outside Gracie Zieroth added seven kills. Senior defensive specialist Madeline Svoboda had 25 digs and senior outside Sarah Reinke had 21 digs. Svoboda also led the team with four aces, and Reinke led the team with three blocks. First-year Ashley Earick added two blocks in the first action of her collegiate career.
Crown Volleyball hopes to build on this early success as they stay in Wisconsin with a matchup against Alverno tomorrow at noon.
