ROSEVILLE, Minn. --- Crown Tennis faced the Northwestern Eagles today in their first outdoor play of the year, and finished late after a brief stint of rain that caused a delay. Unfortunately, the Storm fell to the Eagles twice 9-0.
In Men's, the Storm were led by
Jacob Sporleder, who took five games in No. 5 singles.
Travis Burg took three games in No. 4 singles, and
Caleb Baumann took one game in No. 1 singles. In doubles, only the combination of Burg and
Andrew Moorse took a game. In Women's, only
Sierra Allison and
Abby Engrav took a game.
The Storm next compete at their home field of Southwest Christian, outdoors on Saturday at noon with a matchup against the St. Scholastica Saints. This will be the first time the Storm are able to compete at their designated home, with the prolonged 2018 winter preventing outdoor tennis last season.
