Inder Singh Named to NABC Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced the 2019 Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team on Tuesday, a list that included Crown Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach Inder Singh.  A 2012 Crown graduate, Singh has been an assistant with the men's basketball program for the past eight seasons, starting as a student volunteer and ascending to his current role two seasons ago.

In coach Singh's tenure on the coaching staff, Crown has achieved three UMAC playoff appearances, including postseason trips in each of the past two seasons.  He has recruited and coached two Conference Players of the Year, 17 All-Conference selections, and 34 Academic All-Conference student-athletes.  His work has been instrumental in turning a struggling program into a perennial contender in the UMAC.

Head Coach Luke Herbert was full of praise for his longtime assistant.  "Inder is so important to our program and to me personally.  Without his dedicated efforts over the past eight years our program would not be where it is."  Coach Herbert, who coached Singh in his final playing season, continued, "Many times assistant coaches work in one or two areas of a program, but Inder is as well-rounded a coach as you'll find.  He's an incredible recruiter, handles scheduling, logistics, and makes our players better.  He contributes in every area of our program and makes me a better coach – you couldn't ask for a better assistant or friend."

For his part, Coach Singh noted, "It is an incredible honor to be named in this group of coaches.  To be recognized on the national stage is not something you expect, which makes this very special."
