LAKEVILLE, Minn. --- Crown Tennis faced the Bethany Lutheran Vikings on Saturday afternoon, and fell in both men's and women's 8-1 to the UMAC rival. The women won their first match of the season as
Cortney Gunderson won the No. 3 singles 6-3, 7-6.
Also scoring for the women,
Lauren Sporleder won three games,
Abby Engrav won three games,
Nahomie Konzi won four games, and
Marina Ortiz won a game. In doubles, Gunderson and Sporleder led the way with five games won;
Sierra Allison and Engrav won three games, and Konzi and Yates won a game.
For the men, it was
Jacob Sporleder that took the one match, defeating a Viking 6-2, 6-4 in No. 6 singles. Also scoring for the men,
Caleb Baumann won six games,
Romeo Mork won three games, and
Joe Duffy forced his contest to three sets.
The Storm Tennis program next plays on Tuesday at the University of Northwestern, facing the Eagles.
