Game 1: Crown vs. Simpson
Final Score: Crown 1, Simpson 3
In game one of Crown's Spring Break trip, the Storm struggled batting against the Simpson ace, but a stellar pitching performance from
Eric Newman kept them alive in the game. Newman had two earned runs and seven strikeouts in a complete game. Crown's lone run came as
Seth Betts found home on a balk.
Game 2: Crown vs. Simpson
Final Score: Simpson 7, Crown 5
In game two of the series against Simpson, Crown once again struggled to find their bats, but that all changed in the seventh inning as they scored five runs to amount a comeback against the maroon Storm.
Levi Knott hit an RBI double,
Kress Medina hit an RBI single,
Alex Sugi hit for an RBI,
Camden Wiens had an RBI-single and
Kyle Schroedle had an RBI walk for the Storm in that seventh inning.
Sydney Ness got the start for the Storm, and allowed five earned runs in five innings of work.
Ethan Hyatt relieved Ness.
Game 3: Crown vs. St. Norbert
Final Score: Crown 7, St. Norbert 0
In game three of the road trip, Crown found their first win of the season as
Nicholas Schroedle pitched a shutout four-hitter for the Storm. Schroedle struck out nine in the matchup and is now 1-0 on the season. In the first inning,
Levi Knott hit a sacrifice fly and Wiens singled for another RBI to go up 2-0. The Storm held the lead from there as Schroedle settled in to a groove. In the second,
Levi Knott hit in
Seth Betts for the second straight time to add another run to the Storm lead. In the third,
Kyle Schroedle walked in a run (his second RBI walk of the season), and
Camden Wiens had a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Knott added one last RBI in the seventh as the Storm eased to victory in the third game of the year.
Game 4: Crown vs. St. Norbert
Final Score: St. Norbert 10, Crown 5
Unfortunately, St. Norbert took the second game of the doubleheader, avenging the loss from earlier in the day.
Levi Knott started the game like the last, with an RBI early scoring
Seth Betts. In the second, Knott added yet another RBI, but the Storm scoring stopped at three until the seventh, after they had fallen behind 10-3.
Gideon Dunn and
Kress Medina had late RBI singles, but the last stand ended there.
Nick Brock received his first start of the year for the Storm, with Medina continuing for five innings and Knott ending the game.
Game 5: Crown vs. Central
Final Score: Central 11, Crown 4
In game one against the 9-1 Central team, Crown took an early 2-0 lead after
Kress Medina reached to score the first run of the game and
Bailey Sarto hit an RBI single to add another in the bottom of the first. In the third,
Kyle Schroedle walked in yet another run (his third of the trip), and the Storm kept their lead 3-1. Unfortunately, a seven run sixth inning for Central gave them a commanding lead. In the bottom of the seventh,
Brooks Repking hit a sacrifice fly to add another run, but the Storm fell 11-4.

Jevon Tompkins pitched for the Storm in the contest.
Game 6: Crown vs. Central
Final Score: Crown 0, Central 13
Central's pitching shined in this contest, allowing only three hits from the Storm.

Nick Brock, and
Luis Pujols pitched for the Storm.
Game 7: Crown vs. D'Youville
Final Score: Crown 5, D'Youville 4
In a close contest between the Spartans and Storm, Crown was able to take the lead 5-3 in the fourth inning, and relied on their pitching staff the rest of the way, who only gave up one more run the rest of the game to give Crown their first win of the day. The game started with
Brooks Repking hitting an RBI single to score
Bailey Sarto to take an early lead in the first. After allowing three straight runs to the Spartans, Crown came back in the third inning with
Gideon Dunn collecting two RBIs on a single (scoring Knott and
Seth Betts). Then
Kress Medina hit a sacrifice to score Dunn later in the inning to retake the Storm lead. Then in the fourth inning, Betts hit an RBI sacrifice to score
Kyle Schroedle to give Crown the eventual game-winning run.
Eric Newman won his first game of the season after pitching 4.1 inning with no earned runs;
Ethan Hyatt took the save completing the game only allowing a single earned run.
Game 8: Crown vs. D'Youville
Final Score: D'Youville 0, Crown 22
In the second game of the doubleheader, Crown Baseball completed the sweep of D'Youville with ease, blanking the Spartans 22-0. Pitching for the Storm,
Sydney Ness completed a shutout in seven innings of work, striking out three in his three-hitter. Crown pulled ahead 13-0 after an eleven run second inning.
Kress Medina led the Storm with three hits and four RBIs as the team spread the scoring around.

Game 9: Crown vs. Anderson

To end the Florida trip, Crown faced the Indiana based Anderson University. Crown fell to the Ravens 8-1. The lone Storm run came from
Camden Wiens with an RBI walk in the seventh inning.
Nicholas Schroedle started for the Storm, pitching six innings with five runs allowed, striking out three in the contest.
Jevon Tompkins and
Dylan Balfour both pitched shutout innings in relief in the contest.
