McIntosh Has Two TD Receptions in Loss to CSS

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown's football team hosted a game on Saturday afternoon against the St. Scholastica Saints, who traveled down from Duluth. The Storm struggled in the first half, allowing 32 points including two safeties, however, they looked much better in the second half, outscoring the Saints by a touchdown.

The first time Crown scored it was on a 15-yard pass from first-year quarterback Jared Gilmore to first-year receiver Domonquie Guy in the third quarter. The second touchdown came also through the air as fellow first-year quarterback Michael Gross found junior receiver David McIntosh in the corner of the end zone for a score. Later in the fourth, Gilmore came back in and found McIntosh for both of their second touchdowns of the game.

Gross led the passing attack with 72 passing yards, Chris Simpson led the rushing attack with 32 rushing yards, and McIntosh led the receivers with 42 receiving yards. Hunter Orozco led the defense with eight tackles. Joe Duffy had the lone sack for the Storm. Both Tim Austin and Cody Ricketts forced fumbles in the matchup and Sebastian Alvarado had an interception. Ricketts also recovered his fumble, and Colbe Robertson had a fumble recovery after a massive punt by Isaiah Zepeda that was touched by a St. Scholastica player. Zepeda's 77-yard punt is a school record, shattering the previous record by 17 yards.

Next week is Homecoming! Crown football plays the University of Northwestern Eagles at 6 pm on their home turf, KleinBank Stadium.
