Ellendale, N.D. --- Crown Women's Basketball won their second straight game on Saturday as they bested the Trinity Lions 66-32. They pulled ahead immediately, with a 23-6 first quarter lead. For the second straight day, Crown held their opponent to only 32 points. Over the two-game win streak, the Storm have beaten their opponent by 59 combined points.
Sophomore guard
Brooke Honeck led the Storm with ten points, and
Shauna Thompson,
Damonyka Roberts, and
Marissa Ruf all were a point behind as each scored nine in the contest. Crown once again had a field day in creating turnovers, with 28 forced. Thompson also led the team passing, with five assists in the match.
Rose Crowns led the team on the boards, with six rebounds in the game.
Junior
Stevey De La Ossa had five steals in the game,
Patricia Gibson had four, and Roberts had three. Crown only allowed one three-pointer for the second straight game (7% opposing three-point percentage for Trinity). The Lions shot only slightly above 25% in the game.
Crown now returns home with a matchup against UM-Morris on Wednesday upcoming.
