ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Junior
Gunnar Ledin had 23 points in his impressive Crown debut on Thursday evening at the Wild Athletic Center. Crown bested Hamline in a heated game 91-86 as Crown won their first game of the season. The Storm were down early and went into halftime with a four-point deficit. However, in the second half, the scoring came alive and Crown scored 57 to win the game by five.
Junior Timothy Wendel had an incredible game from the floor, with 19 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and a block. Senior
Keegan Oyugi had a great first game on the court for the Storm, with 16 points on only six field goal attempts. Senior
Dartrell Moss scored 13 points in the matchup, as another first-year Crown player reached double figures. Another senior guard,
D'Andre Caster, grabbed six boards for the Storm, including a late putback in a clutch moment. Junior forward
Kole Jusczak had six points, making both of his three-point attempts.
Crown overall had a great time shooting the ball, scoring on 48% of field goal attempts, 38% of three-point attempts and 77% of their 27 free throw tries.
Crown continues their start of the season with another home game on Saturday at 3 pm against St. Mary's.
