ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown Men's Basketball eased past Faith Baptist Bible College today, defeating the Eagles 52-99. Crown got off to a scorching start and led 50-19 with three minutes left in the first half. The Storm never looked back and continued to gain their lead, even as the bench players rotated in.
The Storm had four players in double figures, with
Christian Moore leading the way as he had 15 off the bench on 6/7 shooting. Senior
Josh Volness was close behind with 14 including four made three-point attempts.
Timothy Wendel had 11 points in the matchup, as did
Keegan Oyugi. Oyugi also led the Storm with six assists.
Logan Strand led the Storm in rebounds with ten in the matchup with FBBC. First-year
Nathaniel Bliss led the team with two blocks in the game, and Oyugi and
D'Andre Caster both recorded four steals.
"The game went well, we executed things that we planned before the game. Boxed out, rebounded the ball well and played really good defense," said senior guard
Dartrell Moss. "We got ahead, and everyone did their job."
Everyone did have a part in this matchup, with 17 players scoring points in the game and 21 players getting on the court to see some action. No player saw more than 15 minutes of action. Crown shot 52% from the field and 34% from three-point range, and held the Eagles to 27% from the field and 14% from long range. The Storm improve to 3-2 and have a matchup with Trinity Bible College in North Dakota tomorrow afternoon.
