Roseville, Minn. — Crown's volleyball team opened the UMAC season with the toughest possible matchup, facing #10 Northwestern this weekend and fell to the top ten team 0-3 (10-25, 19-25, 15-25.) The Northwestern Eagles went to the DIII Volleyball Final Four this past year and returned AVCA Player of the Year Lindsey Peterson.
Senior
Kelsey Roschen led Crown in assists and digs with 14 assists and ten digs against the UMAC powerhouse. Roschen was also the only member of the Storm with an ace and had her first block of the season. Senior
Michaela Svoboda was tied for a team-high in digs with Roschen, also with ten. Sophomore
Christine Anderson had a team-highs three blocks and four kills.
Alayna Kohler and
Kaitlin Ruiter also had four kills.
The Storm volleyball team next goes to continue UMAC action with a tri in Duluth, facing St. Scholastica and Martin Luther.
