St. Bonifacius, Minn. — In the first minute of the game against UMAC rival Minnesota-Morris, the game paused as Crown's junior
Austin VanDerHeyden scored his 1,000 career point as a member of the Crown Storm. VanDerHeyden is already the leading rebounder in Crown history. Unfortunately, Crown couldn't celebrate the accomplishment with a win, falling to Morris, 74-86.
VanDerHeyden's day wasn't done after reaching the milestone, as he scored 20 points and brought down seven boards in the game. Freshman
Timothy Wendel scored well on his first day back after missing the past three games due to injury, making four threes and scoring 16 points along with his seven rebounds. Sophomore
Josh Volness also reached double figures with ten points in the game.
Crown next plays next Friday away at North Central as they continue UMAC Play.
