Morris, Minn. – The Crown College women's basketball fell on the road Wednesday to the Cougars of Minnesota Morris. It was both team's first action in UMAC play with the Cougars running out 72-33 winners.
The hosts used stifling defense in the first two quarters to build a 47-16 halftime lead and never looked back. Crown was held to just 17.6% shooting from the field and a 1-17 mark from behind the arc, with Morris recording eight blocked shots in the game.
Crown saw eight different players score in the contest, led by seven apiece from Desiree Davis and Patricia Gibson. Damonyka Roberts hit double-digits with ten rebounds.
The Storm travel to Maranatha Baptist on Saturday for their next game.
