St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Crown women's basketball took their second straight loss as they got bested by Macalester 57-70. After this loss, Crown is 1-1 against MIAC schools this year, beating Hamline in their season opener. 
Junior Kayla Carter led the way for the Storm today offensively, with an impressive 22 points and eight rebounds. She hit three of her five three-point attempts and seven of her nine free throw opportunities. Desiree Davis had an impressive stat line with 13 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals in her 34 minutes of action. 
Andrea Besa scored nine points in the game and had four assists and three rebounds. Hannah Malone was held scoreless for the first game all season but contributed in other ways with three assists, four rebounds, and a steal. Patricia Gibson added six rebounds to her season total as a post player off the bench. 
This game ended the Crown women's opening three-game homestand, going on the road to the Carleton to face both the Knights and St. Olaf this weekend.
