Northfield, Minn. — Crown's women's basketball team competed at the College Town Classic tournament on Friday and Saturday. After falling to host Carleton 39-73 on Friday, Crown held with St. Olaf, eventually falling to the MIAC 50-58.
In game one against Carleton, Desiree Davis scored ten points, pulled down seven rebounds, and had two assists in only 24 minutes of gameplay. Hannah Malone added seven points and six rebounds, with two steals in the game as well. Andrea Besa also had seven rebounds and two assists in the game.
In game two against St. Olaf, Crown was only down a single point at halftime but pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Storm. Davis led the scoring again with 16 points along with her eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Patricia Gibson had a solid game with six points and eight rebounds. Crown only shot 30% from the field but held Olaf to 34%.
Crown next plays on Tuesday with Trinity Bible coming to St. Boni for a matchup against the men's and women's basketball teams.
