San Juan, Puerto Rico — The Crown women played a pair of games in tropical San Juan, Puerto Rico during the break. Despite the nice change of climate from the cold Minnesota winter, they couldn't find a win against Kean University from Union, New Jersey or Illinois College from Jacksonville Illinois.
In the first game against Kean, senior
Claire Culbertson had her season high as she led the team with nine points shooting an impressive 80% from the field. Juniors
Miranda Brueggeman and
Madison Stricklin also had their season high point totals with seven and six points respectively. Senior
Molly Greenfield also added eight points in the game. only one point off of her season high.
The second game against Illinois College had an impressive performance by sophomore
Kayla Carter, who had her first double-double of the season in only 17 minutes of action. She had 10 points on 4/6 shooting and 11 rebounds, with an impressive seven rebounds on the offensive glass.
The Crown women next play on January 6th at home against UMAC opponent Northwestern at 5:30.
