St. Bonifacius, Minn. — The Crown women struggled early against Northland College Saturday afternoon, and even though they scored well in the second half, it wasn't enough to defeat Northland, losing 45-69. The women won their first game of the season last night against Finlandia, but the momentum didn't carry to tonight's game. After scoring 18 points in the first half, Crown was able to score 27 in the second half. Unfortunately, that was not enough to tip the scale, with Northland scoring 30 points or more in each half.
Sophomore
Kayla Carter led production for the Storm, who had an impressive 8/5/1/2/1 line in the game. Junior
Andrea Besa was second in scoring, reaching her average of seven points in the contest. Freshman
Stevey De La Ossa tied her season high with six points, the third time this season she's reached that mark. De La Ossa also had three steals, two assists and two rebounds in the game.
Crown next plays on Friday going away to Mankato facing UMAC foe Bethany Lutheran.
