St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Crown's men team lit it up from beyond the arc to beat Finlandia on Friday night, 86-77. The team shot an incredible 14 of 26 from downtown to beat the Lions. The entire team was feeling good from range with five different players hit at least two threes.
The team's leading scorers were senior
James Brown, who continues to etch his place in Crown history as he continues to expand his all-time scoring record he achieved earlier this season, and freshman
Timothy Wendel; they both had 18 points in the game. Brown also added eight rebounds in the match. Junior
Austin VanDerHeyden was all over the place throughout the contest, with sixteen points, nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals to help Crown seal the win.
Senior Garret Bigej and sophomore
Josh Volness were also in double figures, and each had three threes in the game. Senior
Tom Messner also had two made threes on three attempts.
The Crown men next play on Saturday at 5 pm against Northland College.
